Water, Agriculture and You

Water, Agriculture and You summarizes the findings from the Rodale Institute long term experiments, showing the ways that agricultural practices and systems influence ground and surface water quality. The booklet presents an overview of the connection between the water cycle and agriculture and examines agriculture-based water quality and health issues, such as pesticide and nitrogen contamination. A series of farm management recommendations to improve water quality are provided. The booklet is written for a general audience and includes a glossary, bibliography, and a list of information resources that can be accessed over the worldwide web, making it useful for farmers, educators, extension agents, policy makers, and the general public.  Click here for the booklet.
