Crop Conversion Calculator Tool. Crop Conversion Calculator uses USDA Agricultural Census data and Rodale Institute long time field research averages to provide crop yields and production costs for any of five major commodity crops. Commodity prices are taken directly from Organic Price Report, an online database of current prices from a dozen markets nationwide. For now, we give you a choice of five crops: soybeans, corn, wheat, barley and oats and a custom field that can represent one crop of your choice. As you click to select your crops, they will appear in the green tabs at the top of the screen labeled as Field One to Field Six. Please note that the custom crop will appear just as “Custom” and you cannot enter the name of your own crop.
