This intensive one-on-one course will give participants the knowledge and skills to assess the quality of soil, compost and compost extracts on their own, without the inconvenience and repeated expense of sending samples to a commercial lab.
The course program includes a set-up and operation techniques section followed by identification of organism groups: bacteria, fungi, protozoa and nematodes.
A course requirement is that participants bring their own microscope and soil, compost or compost extract for assessment. You will need a microscope with 4X, 10X, and 40X objective lenses (that 40X is critical), and 10X eyepieces.
