This one day class with Dr. Elaine Ingham will help you understand the science behind making good compost while becoming familiar with the step by step process of building the right compost pile. Participants will learn about: recipes, starting materials, stages of decomposition, temperature control, aeration, equipment, etc. The program involves classroom presentations, microscope analysis, as well as a field tour of the Rodale Institute commercial composting site and equipment demonstrations. Dress accordingly for a hands-on session in the afternoon.
