Quick and Easy Pasta with Mushrooms
The earthy taste of mushrooms pairs perfectly with pasta!

Mushrooms are healthy, fun to eat, and they add special flavor and aroma to any food. This simple pasta-and-mushroom dish is a great meal for fall.

THINGS YOU'LL NEED INGREDIENTS
(Use organic ingredients whenever possible)
Measuring cups
Large pot
Kitchen scale
Paring knife
Cutting board
Measuring spoons
Medium saucepan
Wooden spoon
Colander
3 cups dry pasta
1/2 pound fresh mushrooms (Mix your favorite varieties! We used shiitake, maitake, mini Portobello, and white.)
1/4 cup chives, chopped
2 Tbsp olive oil
1/4 cup heavy cream
2 tsp lemon juice
Salt and pepper to taste
Chives for garnish (optional)
Let's Make It!
Adult: Cook the pasta according to package directions.
Adult: While the pasta is cooking, slice the mushrooms and chop the chives.
Adult: Place the oil and mushrooms in the saucepan over medium heat and sauté for 3 minutes.

Kid: Reduce heat to low and add the cream, lemon juice, salt, and pepper and mix well. Add the pasta and chopped chives and mix well.
