Organic tomatoes show higher nutrient content
Researchers at the University of California, Davis have found that organically grown tomatoes provide more micronutrients and increased flavonoid levels. The 10-year study concluded that organic tomatoes contain 79 to 90 percent more micronutrients than conventional product.
Unfortunately, though, tomatoes, second only to potatoes in terms of popularity, continue to be one of the most genetically altered crops in the U.S.
