Animal tracking systems found to carry a host of problems

Threatening small farms, bolstering agribusiness and factory farms, and rewarding environmental destruction have been only a few effects of the USDA’s animal tracking standards. Meanwhile, there is little evidence that the system can do what it claims to do: deal with growing threats of livestock pathogens. In fact, by favoring the largest operations, the system actually promotes conditions and practices that lead to the spread of virulent disease. Full story: Mother Earth News
