EU climate plan schedules increasing investments

European leaders approved a broad plan for halting climate change last month, which will be used in international climate negotiations in Copenhagen in December. The EU plan includes a carefully delineated schedule of gradually increasing investments in addressing climate change, and lists 200 actions each nation could take that would not come with a prohibitive cost. The major challenge for now will be drawing the U.S. and China, the world’s leading polluters, into negotiations, along with developing countries that may quickly catch up. Full Story: APF
