Ensuring farm viability and farmland preservation

Many agricultural counties nationwide are subject to increasing development pressures and urbanization, finds a report published by the American Farmland Trust in partnership with Dick Esseks and the University of Nebraska. The report lists suggestions for new local policy approaches to maintaining an adequate land base and findings about what partnerships and programs are most effective in making local farmland and farmers a top priority.
