Total energy renewal

In an op-ed, George Monbiot argues that “The planet is now so vandalized that only total energy renewal can save us.” It is too late, he feels, for many of  president-elect Obama’s current proposals. Our infrastructure needs to be fundamentally replaced in order to slow catastrophic and self-perpetuating effects of climate change; the economy would have to be completely decarbonized by 2050, he says.
