The costs of obesity: economic, social and personal

With two-thirds of American adults either overweight or obese, the epidemic is responsible for many health problems and can be considered a public health disaster, putting a major strain on the health care system and today’s workforce. This study finds that some of the answers may lie in reforming our food system – from increasing availability and affordability of healthy foods (especially to low-income populations) to intervening in the marketing and popularizing of bad nutrition.
