The USDA announces initiative to reduce energy consumption
The USDA’s Rural Development program is to award $35 million in grants and loan guarantees to agricultural producers and small business to convert to alternative energies or improve their energy efficiency. This is part of the program’s mission to boost rural economies, create jobs in the growing sustainable development sector and improve the economic opportunities and infrastructure in rural communities.
