Wal-Mart is buying more food locally to save fuel costs

Wal-Mart hopes to combat soaring food prices and reduce fuel costs by working with more local farmers, thus saving thousands of “food miles” her shopping cart. The mega retailer considers food “local” if it was grown in the same state in which it is sold. Full story: Reuters
