Bees still suffering from colony collapse disorder

Colony collapse disorder (CCD) continued to diminish U.S. honeybee populations this winter. Human dependency on the insects has led the USDA to begin researching the connection between CCD and pesticide use. The article reports that the genes “involved in insecticide resistance in other insects are completely lacking” in honeybees, making them especially prone to being wiped out by insecticides.
