Developed countries need to reduce emissions the most
The nations with the most developed industry and biggest economies are the ones emitting the highest levels of greenhouse gases, according to this Reuters report. According to Paula Dobriansky, U.S. under secretary of state for global affairs, these countries are also the ones that can afford to change their practices. It is hoped that these countries’ leaders will agree to reduce their emissions at a G8 summit in Hokkaido, Japan, this July.
