GM crops increase pesticide use without feeding people

Genetically modified (GM) crops, largely concentrated in the U.S. and Argentina, have increased the application of  pesticides in the production of corn and soybeans for livestock feed, but done little to improve food availability for humans. The report, by Friends of the Earth Australia, questions why GMO proponents are telling African nations to use the altered seeds when there is so little evidence of benefit for the environment or the small farmers who would have to make them work to feed their communities.
