Maine town says "no" to GMOs

Montville, Maine, has become the first community outside the state of California to ban the cultivation of genetically engineered crops. Representatives of biotech companies warn the state that if it upholds the validity of the ban it could be squelch R&D efforts and be a blow to the state’s economy. Organic farmers, who represent a growing portion of that economy, say they are just trying to protect their own assets.  Full story
