New Farm's new look, new location

Over the past several weeks and months we’ve been working diligently to bring you a new-and-improved website that reflects the refocused mission of the Rodale Institute. While we’ve always been—and always will be—about helping farmers grow healthy food, we’re broadening our reach to include everyone who enjoys the benefits of regenerative agriculture. Visit us now at www.rodaleinstitute.org.

For more than 60 years we’ve been promoting organic farming as a powerful solution to the growing environmental problems that plague our planet and to the mounting health concerns confronting its people. With global warming a widely accepted reality, obesity and diabetes becoming epidemic and widespread famine threatening the developing world, farmers using organic and regenerative methods may remain our best hope.

Our research has proven that unlike conventional agriculture, which significantly contributes to global warming, organic farming and regenerative practices can reduce its effect by pulling carbon from the air and storing it in the soil. Studies continue to bear out that organic food is better for you. And a growing body of science is reaching the conclusion that not only can organic farming feed the world, it’s the only sustainable choice for the long haul.

With all the world’s pressing challenges, there’s still much good news to tell. And we’re here to deliver it, whether it’s about our own breakthrough research, coming from one of the many land-grant universities that are finally jumping on the organic bandwagon, or through sharing the story of a pioneering educator bringing a garden into the classroom (or vice versa).

On Rodale Institute’s new website you'll find all the familiar tools you remember from New Farm (and then some), packaged in a more accessible, user-friendly manner. You'll learn—through feature stories, news articles and research—why choosing organic whenever possible is not only a better health choice, but also a better choice for the environment. You'll learn how and why biological farming methods are gaining favor across the planet over so-called Green Revolution techniques. And you'll find a section for kids and families to help you learn and grow together.

Over the next few weeks and months we’ll be transferring the New Farm archives to the new site. In the meantime, all our archives can be reached by clicking on "More Stories from NewFarm "on the New Farm page.

We hope you like our new look and feel, and that you will continue to be inspired by our coverage. As always, we’d love to hear what you think. And we encourage you to tell your friends to visit us at www.rodaleinstitute.org.

Happy planting!
