Long-term market trends hold hope for organic sector

Despite deepening recession, faithful organic consumers keep their heads above water, market research shows, making their dollars stretch by choosing whole foods over processed foods. Growth continues, but has slowed over the past year. Says Ronnie Cummins, national director of the Organic Consumers’ Association, “We think in the long run the prognosis is good.
